Laura Johnston

Laura accepts briefs in a wide range of areas of law.  Her practice focuses on commercial matters, probate and contested wills, general equity and coronial inquiries.  She also acts for a wide range of government agencies on matters of public and administrative law and has particular expertise in national security law.  Before commencing at the Bar, Laura was a solicitor at Allens, where she focused on banking and finance, insurance and commercial litigation.  She then spent several years as an in-house lawyer with a Commonwealth investigative agency.  Laura was an Associate to a judge of the Federal Court of Australia and has lectured in law at UTS.  She holds a Master of Laws from Harvard University, where she received a Dean’s Scholar Prize for academic merit, and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours Class 1) from the University of Sydney.
